Advent Reflection: What a Privileged Place to Be

Advent: What a Privileged Place to Be

By Rev. Msgr. Robert Panke – St. John Neumann’s Parish, Gaithersburg, MD

Advent is a time of expectant longing for the coming of Christ into our hearts. How extraordinary it is that God took on flesh so that we could know that we are not alone and are deeply loved.

St. Paul wrote, “All of us, gazing with unveiled face on the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, as from the Lord who is the Spirit.”

We can contemplate the beauty and the Glory of God in Eucharistic Adoration.  What a privileged place to be before Jesus, just like the shepherds and wise men, who gazed upon and adored the baby King of Kings. The more we sit and gaze and adore, the more we will be transformed into Him. Spend some time in Advent in prayer before the Blessed Sacrament this Advent.  Speak to Him about what is in your heart and receive his Love.
