Statement of Cardinal Donald Wuerl on the Death of Edmund Pellegrino, M.D., Former President of The Catholic University of America

“It was with great sadness that I learned of the death of Dr. Edmund Pellegrino, whom I have known and had the privilege of working with for almost 40 years. He was a faithful member of this archdiocese as well as a gifted scholar, teacher and healer. In all of his many activities and services, he presented an endearing blend of scientific expertise and profound Catholic faith.

“To his family I offer my pledge of prayer that God receive Dr. Pellegrino into eternal life and that he grant consolation and peace to all of his loved ones.”
