Mass to Commemorate the 111th World Day of Migrants and Refugees

In observance of the 111th World Day of Migrants and Refugees, we invite you to a special Mass celebrated by Robert Cardinal McElroy, Archbishop of Washington. The Mass will take place at the Cathedral of Saint Matthew the Apostle in Washington, DC. on Sunday, September 28, at 5:30 PM ET

All are invited to attend this meaningful celebration as we come together in prayer and solidarity with migrants and refugees around the world.

The World Day of Migrants and Refugees is an occasion to express concern for the various vulnerable displaced persons; to pray for them as they face many challenges; and to raise awareness about the opportunities that migration offers.

“Migrants missionaries of hope” is the theme chosen by Pope Francis for the 111^h World Day of Migrants and Refugees (WDMR). Pope Francis chose this year’s theme to highlight the courage and tenacity of migrants and refugees, who daily bear witness to their hope for the future despite the difficulties.

En conmemoración de la 111.ª Jornada Mundial del Migrante y del Refugiado, los invitamos a una Misa especial celebrada por el Cardenal Robert McElroy, Arzobispo de Washington.

La misa tendrá lugar en la Catedral de San Mateo Apóstol, Washington, DC el domingo 28 de septiembre a las 5:30 p.m. (hora del Este)

La Jornada Mundial del Migrante y del Refugiado es una ocasión para expresar la preocupación las diversas personas vulnerables que se encuentran en situación de desplazamiento; para orar por ellas mientras enfrentan numerosos desafíos y para aumentar la conciencia sobre las oportunidades que ofrece la migración.

“Migrantes, misioneros de esperanza” es el tema elegido por el Papa Francisco para la 111.ª Jornada Mundial del Migrante y del Refugiado (JMMR). El Papa eligió este tema para resaltar el coraje y la tenacidad de los migrantes y refugiados, quienes dan testimonio diario de su esperanza en el futuro a pesar de las dificultades que enfrentan.
