Redemptoris Mater Seminary

Redemptoris Mater Seminary was created to train men from around the world to become diocesan missionary priests. After their ordination as priests, the men serve both in the archdiocese and in missions throughout the world.

Neocatechumenal Way - Mary and Jesus

The seminarians are members of the Neocatechumenal Way, an international “itinerary of Catholic formation,” whose over one million lay and clergy members are active in evangelization, catechesis and faith formation in 135 countries. This seminary is one of 120 Redemptoris Mater seminaries worldwide and one of nine in the United States (Newark, Washington D.C., Denver, Boston, Dallas, Bridgeport, Philadelphia, Brooklyn and Miami).

The seminary originally was located in a former convent at Our Lady of Sorrows parish in Takoma Park (August 2001-December 2005).
