National Eucharistic Pilgrimage Mass and Procession

We are thrilled to welcome you on Saturday, June 8, 2024 to the National Eucharistic Pilgrimage public Mass and Procession in D.C.

All are welcome!

The theme for the Procession will be Walk with Jesus: To Jesus Through Mary. Each stop on the Procession will have a short period of prayer and the language at each prayer session will alternate between English and Spanish.

Schedule for June 8, 2024:

• 8:00 am: Mass at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception.
• 9:00 am: Eucharistic Procession through the Brookland neighborhood of D.C., stopping at The Catholic University of America (CUA), various religious communities, The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops’ (USCCB) building, and ending at the St. John Paul II National Shrine.
• 12:00 noon: Benediction at the Saint John Paul II National Shrine.
• 12:30 pm: Catechesis on the Eucharist led by Archdiocese of Washington Auxiliary Bishop Evelio Menjivar and a young person from the Archdiocese of Washington.

There will be time at the Saint John Paul II National Shrine for rest and refreshments.

The Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Washington will also have a stationary pilgrimage for those with limited mobility, or other disability, at the Saint John Paul II National Shrine at the same time as the walking Procession.

Con suma satisfacción damos la bienvenida el próximo sábado 8 de junio, a la misa y procesión en Washington D.C. ¡Todos son bienvenidos!

El tema de la procesión será Caminamos con Jesús: A Jesús por María. Durante la procesión, en cada parada, habrá un breve periodo de oración en un idioma que alternará entre inglés y español.

Horario para el 8 de junio de 2024

8:00 a.m – Misa en la Basílica del Santuario Nacional de la Inmaculada Concepción.

9:00 a.m – Procesión Eucarística por las calles del vecindario Brookland de D.C., con puntos de parada en la Universidad Católica de América, varias comunidades religiosas y la sede de la Conferencia de Obispos Católicos de los Estados Unidos, para concluir en el Santuario Nacional San Juan Pablo II.

12:00 p.m – Bendición en el Santuario Nacional San Juan Pablo II.

12:30 p.m – Catequesis sobre la Sagrada Eucaristía a cargo del Obispo Mons. Evelio Menjívar, y una persona joven de la Arquidiócesis.

En el Santuario Nacional San Juan Pablo II habrá tiempo para reposar y tomar un refrigerio.
