Virtual Youth Rally and Mass for Life Celebrates and Promotes Dignity of Life
WASHINGTON, D.C. – On Friday, January 29, preceding the national March for Life in Washington, the Archdiocese of Washington will hold its annual Youth Rally and Mass for Life. This year, due to the restrictions from the COVID-19 pandemic, the rally will be virtual, as is the March for Life.
In past years, tens of thousands of teens and young adults from around the country and world have gathered for the Rally at the Capital One Arena in Washington to celebrate and witness to the gift of life in all its stages and pray for an end to abortion. This year marks the 48th anniversary of Roe v. Wade, the 1973 Supreme Court decision that legalized abortion in the United States.
Hosted live on virtual platforms, the 8:30 a.m. Rally will feature guest speakers and artists such as Josh Brahm from the Equal Rights Institute, Sarah Kroger, Out of Darkness, and Ivan Diaz. Music for the Mass for Life will be provided by PJ Anderson.
Cardinal Wilton Gregory, Archbishop of Washington, will be the celebrant and homilist for the livestreamed 10 a.m. Mass from the Cathedral of St. Matthew the Apostle.
The event will be livestreamed from archdiocesan Facebook and YouTube social media accounts, and will be available on youthrallyandmassforlife.org. Participants can also register for the Rally.
