Cardinal Robert McElroy to Honor the Nation’s
250th Anniversary with a Special Mass

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Washington will commemorate the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence with a Mass of Thanksgiving.

Cardinal Robert McElroy, Archbishop of Washington, will serve as the principal celebrant and homilist for this liturgy, which will honor the nation’s founding, offer prayers of thanksgiving for our founding principles, and renew a shared commitment to the promise of liberty and justice for all.
