Cardinal Wuerl to Celebrate Mass for the Philippines on November 25

HYATTSVILLE, Md. – Cardinal Donald Wuerl, Archbishop of Washington, will be the principal celebrant for a Mass to pray for the people affected by Typhoon Haiyan and the catastrophic damage left in its wake.

The homilist for the Mass will be Father Gary Villanueva, pastor of St. Columba parish in Oxon Hill, Md. Over 60 percent of the members of St. Columba’s are Filipino. The Honorable Jose Cuisia, Ambassador of the Republic of the Philippines to the United States, will be in attendance, and the music for the Mass will be provided by a Filipino choir.
