Terrapins’ Football Player Joey Haynos to Visit Our Lady of Mercy School

University of Maryland senior football player Joey Haynos, an all-conference stand-out, will visit Our Lady of Mercy School in Potomac this Monday:

Tight-end Joey Haynos, a graduate of Gonzaga College High School, will read to the third grade students and then go outside for a few passes with them. After that, he will meet with the seventh grade to talk with them about establishing goals and the importance of a good education.

Our Lady of Mercy School consists of 279 students in kindergarten through eighth grade and has been frequently honored for its unique inclusive education program that serves the physically and mentally challenged, empowers talented students, and employs a multicultural perspective across the curriculum.

The Archdiocese of Washington is home to 106 archdiocesan and independent Catholic schools, educating nearly 32,000 students in Washington, DC and Calvert, Charles, Montgomery, Prince George’s and St. Mary’s counties in Maryland.
