Christmas Masses Set

Archbishop Donald W. Wuerl will celebrate his first Christmas as Archbishop of Washington this year, with a Christmas Eve Children’s Mass, Midnight Mass and Christmas Day Mass at three churches around the region:

Sunday, December 24
5:00 p.m.: Children’s Mass
St. Catherine Laboure, 11801 Claridge Drive (at Veirs Mills Road), Wheaton, MD

Children will be the focus at this special Mass, with young members of this diverse parish acting out the Christmas story and gathering around Archbishop Donald W. Wuerl during his homily.

Sunday, December 24
11:00 p.m.: Christmas Concert followed by Midnight Mass
Cathedral of Saint Matthew, 1725 Rhode Island Ave., NW, Washington, DC

The Cathedral’s Festival Singers and Gregorian Scholars will lead worshippers in hymns during the concert. Just before the Midnight Mass, Archbishop Donald W. Wuerl will bless the crèche at the St. Anthony Chapel. (Media notes: the chapel is inside the church, to the right; audio mult available.)

Monday, December 25
Noon: Christmas Day Mass
Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception
400 Michigan Ave., NE, Washington, DC

Archbishop Donald W. Wuerl will be the principal celebrant and homilist.
