Faith in Action

Put your Faith into Action

“Action on behalf of justice and participation in the transformation of the world fully appear to us as a constitutive dimension of the preaching of the Gospel, or, in other words, of the church's mission for the redemption of the human race and its liberation from every oppressive situation.” (Justice in the World, 6, Synod of Bishops (1971))

We invite you to put your faith in action. With the wisdom and help of these issue-based organizations and campaigns, we can transform our world to reflect more fully the Gospel.

Catholic Campaign for Human Development
Here in the United States, 34.6 million people- one out of every eight Americans- are living in poverty. Through the U.S. Bishops’ anti-poverty campaign, the Catholic Campaign for Human Development (CCHD), you can give hope to poor and low-income Americans struggling to build a better life. CCHD funds self-help programs that give community members the chance to help them help themselves and to create long-term systemic change in their communities.

Global Solidarity
Hunger, debt forgiveness, fair trade, HIV/AIDS, peace and non-violence, human trafficking…learn more about these and other issues of global justice and participate with us in seeking to help bring about change for our global neighbors.

Attention Youth

Young Adult Ministry
The Archdiocese of Washington’s Young Adult Ministry assists parishes meet the spiritual, catechetical, moral and social needs of young adults in their 20s and 30s, both single and married. This ministry serves both parishes and young adults by sponsoring archdiocesan-wide programs and events, fostering parish young adult groups and forming young adult peer leaders.
