Catechetical Day 2017

Catechetical Day 2017
“Vocations and Holiness: I am a Mission”

Saturday, October 28, 2017

Elizabeth Seton High School

“There is the urgency of restoring to Christian communities a new “vocational culture.” – Pope Francis, Pastoral Care of Vocations, 5/1/17.

In anticipation of the October 2018 Synod:  “Young people, the faith and discernment of vocation,” Catechetical Day 2017 will focus on the beauty of the different vocations.  While the scope of the Synod has a particular focus on youth, the theme of encounter with God and process of discernment is an integral component of each vocational call.  With this broad pastoral theme, CD2017 will offer enrichment opportunities for catechists at every level of formation: children and youth catechesis, young adult and adult formation, marriage and baptism preparation as well as the RCIA.

Opening Mass will be celebrated by Cardinal Wuerl.

The Keynote Address will be offered by Msgr. Robert Panke, Rector, St. John Paul II Seminary
