Welcome to the 15th Annual 7 Church Walk hosted by DCCatholic, the Office of Young Adult Ministry in the Archdiocese of Washington. We gather on the cusp of Holy Week to continue an ancient Roman tradition. On Holy Thursday, after the Mass of the Lord’s Supper, the Blessed Sacrament is taken out of every Church and placed in beautifully adorned chapels. The main tabernacle will stand empty, as the Lord begins his Passion, but we will have one last night to stay awake and adore him. Thus, it became custom for citizens of Rome to visit 7 basilicas on that evening. This custom is faithfully followed around the world, and that is what we do this year during the 7 Church Walk.
Join hundreds of young adults for this annual Lenten pilgrimage as we continue this Roman tradition by walking to seven historic downtown D.C. churches, praying together at each station, and concluding with a 4:30pm Vigil Mass with Bishop Dorsonville.
Meet: 10:00a.m., Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Shaw.
